Vaan has to be the weakest

Understandably, I-IV are not the most well loved games of the series, and VI can be a bit tough to swallow late in the game, but V is a fun game all around. I'm surprised you don't like that one out of all of them since it has, although it's smaller, it's a vastly superior cast to FFVII and the gameplay is a lot of fun once you get into it.

hmm, I think that while you are in the ages, or near the ages, those had been created, they ARE fun, but if you play FFX, or XII, and THEN discover or play I - VI, you just get bored as hell xD

For some reason, I just interpreted that as "ITZ BECAUSE THE GAMES AREN'T 3D!!1!1!!"

But that's what it seriously sounds like to me, but I guess this is just more of an issue of old school vs. new school.

Suddenly towards the end, you had a purpose in going to certain places, and it meant something too. And then you beat the game.

But, her from FFX, yeah, she was a summoner, and became grand summoner and ruler of Spira. Even her FFX character would have made a better main character than Vaan.

Yeah...I couldn't play IV when I first got it because it gave me a migrane, so I can see what you're saying.
Nothing against the graphics or the game itself....just......yea....

I find that hard to believe, since the first RPG I ever seriously played was...FFVII. So I think it's more an issue of Lew being spoiled on games with graphics over quality.

No it's not like that. It's like you feel: "I'm used to a kind of games. With a good music, ambient, and different graphics. I just cannot switch automatically. I start playing and it gets irritating." Also, I hate the battle system. It's TOO basic. Maybe u have different tolerance. But it's like switching from eating with fork and knife to eating with the hands. Did I make it clear?

You should obviously start slow and backwards. FFVI or IVDS would be good choices if you want to settle into an older, simpler FF game.

Which is why I worry for the generation after ours.
They will have been raised on shiny, instead of quality.

I love the older battle systems. FFX-2, nothing but shiny and changing jobs to use one move. KHII, you mash two buttons back and forth. FFXII, the game literally plays itself.

At least with the older games, you actually chose their attacks in the middle of the fight. Cloud, attack, Tifa, cover him with some fire! Aeris, we need heals! Oh shit, Aeris is down, Cloud, revive her, hurry!
But at least then, you can take your time and think, instead of having to rush it all.

I jumped from VII to IV and VI just fine, but then again, I was introduced to those two games a number of times before I ever actually got around to playing them myself.
