Storyline
Cecil returns from his mission to retrieve a Crystal. Cecil, a dark knight and captain of the Red Wings fleet, contemplates on the events, questioning the king's orders. He returns to Baron to report to the king. After giving him the crystal, the king dismisses Cecil, but then Cecil begins to ask the king questions. After he's escorted out of the throne with his new assignment, he goes to his room, depressed, to further contemplate his actions and what he should do. In the morning, he leaves with his best friend, Kain the Dragoon, and thus an epic adventure begins.
Sound
For an SNES game, this game has wonderful music and sound effects. It has many wonderful melodies, epic battle themes, and sound effects you'd expect from an SNES game. I won't say this game has the best music in the world, but it has some of the most popular.
Gameplay
The first game to use, what is commonly used in most Final Fantasy games (from 5-9, then X-2), the active time battle system. This game is quite a classic, and puts a twist in battle, since the enemy can fomulate their own strategy while you do the same. All in all, the battle system isn't different from most FF games we play, but it's still great. The only issue I can really point out is that some of the bosses can be a little too strong (though that's not what I think).
Value
This game has plenty of value to it, though not much in the replay department, but this game is a classic adventure that no one would ever forget...I hope.
Graphics
Again, for an SNES game, the graphics are awesome. It's quite surprising to see how well you can identify some things, and the sheer awe and beauty of some of the monsters is just...well...for an SNES game, pretty damn good.
Though I'm sure many would disagree with me, I think that Final Fantasy IV is one of the best Final Fantasy games of all time. The storyline might be a little old-fashioned, but it has its twists and turns to make a difference.
